The undergraduate Creative Writing Department at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina welcomes applications for the position of Visiting Fiction Writer in Residence for the 2025 Fall semester.
Application for the Visiting Fiction Writer in Residence is available only to alumni of the Warren Wilson College MFA Program for Writers, including those who received the degree during the years the program was at Goddard College.
This is a five-month part-time teaching position, following the fall semester, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025 and an end date of December 31, 2025. Compensation for this part-time position is a salary of $10,000. While limited housing in our Guest House may be available depending on availability, please be aware no relocation assistance is available for this position. Limited meal tickets for the cafeteria are also available as a benefit. The Department of Creative Writing is a dynamic and supportive learning community, with a focus on revision, research, and ethical issues within the discipline, as well as experimentation with form, genre, and style. The mission of the Creative Writing major is to provide opportunities for students to create original work and to expand their understanding of contemporary literature within a community of creative writers.
