Warren Wilson College invites applications for a faculty position in biochemistry. The successful candidate will invigorate our major in biochemistry through a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in a robust learning community. Warren Wilson College does not offer tenure. Full time faculty are hired under extended contract eligibility.Contracts are awarded annually for a period of three years at which time a faculty is reviewed for a three-year contract. After completing these three years, the faculty is then reviewed for a seven-year contract and for successive seven-year contracts every seven years thereafter. This full-time, extended-contract-eligible faculty position begins July 1, 2018.

The position requires a PhD in biochemistry or a related field (in hand by summer 2018). Demonstrated interest in pedagogical innovation and experiential learning is desirable. Additional preferred qualifications include past work in diverse or multicultural environments, and experience mentoring undergraduate research.

Primary teaching responsibilities include biochemistry lectures, biochemistry lab, and general chemistry courses. The successful candidate will engage in independent research, a significant portion of which will comprise acting as a student research advisor as part of our Natural Sciences Undergraduate Research Sequence program.
